If you’re looking for a full, activity-packed day with kids, Downey’s Farm is one of the most comprehensive “fun farm” experiences in the area.
It has all the classics you’d expect—farm equipment turned into jungle gyms, duck races, a corn maze, wagon rides, a corn kernel play area, bouncy jumping pillows, and animatronic animal shows. But what sets it apart is the extra layer of activities: zip lines, obstacle courses, mini golf, balance-based skill games, and even a giant hamster wheel-style attraction.
It’s easily one of the more expensive farms to visit, but it also offers one of the widest ranges of things to do. Everything is well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful, which makes a big difference when you’re navigating a busy day with kids.
We visited during Pumpkinfest, which added even more themed areas and activities. One standout feature was how many photo-friendly setups there were—plenty of spots designed for family pictures, which made the whole experience feel a bit more thoughtful and memorable.
A few practical things to know before you go:
Downey’s actually has two locations directly across the street from each other. The main “Fun Farm” is where all the activities are and requires admission. The other side is for apple picking, so it’s worth double-checking where you’re headed when you arrive.
It’s also a very popular spot. Mornings right at opening are your best bet for a calmer experience. By lunchtime—especially on nice days—it gets very busy and stays that way.
There’s plenty of parking, but it fills up quickly. And while there are lots of washrooms available, they are all porta potties, so it’s something to keep in mind if that matters to you.
Overall, if you’re okay with the price, it delivers on variety, energy, and a full day of entertainment.
